1st birthday party favors

Finding party favors for one year olds isn't easy. Almost everything marketed as a favor (at least those that are reasonably priced) is for kids 3 years old and up. Here are some ideas from the first birthday parties we've been to recently:

Rubber ducks. Oriental Trading Company has all kinds of ducks: pirates, devils, Hawaiian, princesses, even ones that glow in the dark.

Bubbles. Though one year olds shouldn't play with them alone, they'll love watching you blow bubbles for them.

Sand toys: pails, shovels, rakes, molds. Easy, cheap and loved by minis.

Homemade t-shirts. Creative types can decorate plain white t-shirts using transfers or tie dye.

Egg shakers. A mini favorite from music class.

Beach Balls. Toddlers love 'em - they'll be bounced and carried all over the place by grateful party guests.
